Charity Stitching Circle
First Wednesday of every month, 10:30am - Noon

January - March 2010 Goals
We are currently knitting and crocheting for Washington County Foster
Closet. The Foster Closet is a volunteer, non-profit organization that provides
clothing and supplies to transitioning foster children in our community. The
Foster Closet often gets calls to help out when a child has been taken out of a
home (sometimes in the middle of the night) and has nothing but the clothes on
his/her back. It can be a hardship for the foster parents to come up with all of
the child’s needs so quickly.
If you'd like to help, here are the items that they have requested we knit and
crochet for them: blankets (for infants and also “comfort blankies” for toddlers
and older), sweaters, socks, slippers, and toys (stuffed animals etc.).
All items must be machine washable. While the Foster Closet helps out with
kids of all ages, they tend to have the most requests for items for infants
through 8 yrs, both boys and girls. Recently they have had a lot of requests for
boys ages 4 and 5.
You don't have to come to our circle to help, just bring your knit or crocheted
items to the shop through the first week of April. Thanks in advance for your
generosity!
