Have you been bit by the Mystery bug? We sure have! Our last few weeks have been filled with raindrops, roses, and stripes, cool crochet edgings and glimmering beads. It's all part of the Rose City Yarn Crawl's first ever Mystery Knit-along and Crochet-along with local designers Michele Bernstein and Laurinda Reddig. At the Bee we've been holding "mystery meetups" on Sunday afternoons to stitch together, and it has been sooo much fun. Michele (aka pdxknitterati) joined us two weeks ago and we enjoyed lots of laughter and special brownies. Two lucky attendees even won tickets to the sold out RCYC Yarn Ball.
Crochet clue #4 was released yesterday, and tomorrow we'll receive knit clue #4. These are the last clues, and I must admit I'm going to miss this project! I've been working on the knit design in two colors of Juno Fibre Arts Alice (Raisin and Boudoir). Here's a shot of my progress:
Waggle dancer Steffanie went for the double scoop and is participating in BOTH Mystery-alongs. Here's her lovely crocheted shawlette-in-progress back on Clue #2:
Steffanie is using another Knitting Bee favorite, Merilon from Black Trillium Fibre Studio. Love the color combo, Canopy and Antique.
It's not too late to start your own knit or crocheted shawlette. Patterns are available for purchase on ravelry and we'll be meeting up at the Bee for two more Sundays, 1pm-3pm. If you get started now, you might still finish in time to wear your mystery shawlette to the crawl!
